Ingrediants
Parboiled Rice,washed soaked overnight and ground to a smooth paste-4 Cups
Urad Daal soaked overnight and ground to a smooth paste with very little water-1 Cup
Green chilles finely chopped-4
Ginger-2.5 cms
Spinach-4 Cups
Oil-2 Tbs
Salt, to taste
Method
- Mix the rice and daal batters
- Mix in salt and keep it at room temperature overnight to allow it to ferment
- Fy green chillies,ginger in hot oil
- Add spinach and cook till it turns soft
- Cool and coarse grind
- Mix it with idli batter
- Spoon the batter into idli moulds steam for 10 minutes
